The Interview Process

This is an opportunity for us to get to know you better and, importantly, for you to learn more about life at Hunter Bond.

This is an introductory phone call with a member of our talent acquisition team. You will be asked a range of questions around why you would like to work in recruitment, and with Hunter Bond.

This is a video interview with a manager or team leader. They will discuss the opportunity further with you to see whether you would be a good fit for their team.

The third-stage interview will either be in person or via video and will be with one of our directors, who will make the final judgment on your suitability for the role.

Career Progression Path

Director

At Director level you are responsible for setting the strategic vision, overseeing the company’s financial performance, and ensuring overall business growth. You will manage senior-level client relationships, lead business development efforts, and ensure that the agency’s operations align with market trends and company goals. You will also handle high-level decision-making and often act as the face of the agency in the industry.

Associate Director

As Associate Director you will support the Director in managing key areas of the business, such as specific departments, sectors, or regions. You will set operational strategies, manage large client accounts, and lead senior staff. This role combines strategic oversight with day-to-day management and is often responsible for executing specific business initiatives and ensuring that teams hit performance targets.

Manager or Executive Consultant

The next step up from Team Leader is to become a Manager at Hunter Bond. At this point you have built a team of consultants under your leadership and continue to drive the business forward.

The Executive Consultant position is achieved by hitting performance targets whilst a Principal Consultant. At this point you have established yourself as a top biller at Hunter Bond and plan to maintain your status as a top performer. Both career paths are now just one step below the director level.

Team Leader or Principal Consultant

At this point in your Hunter Bond journey, you'll reach a crossroads. You need to decide whether to pursue the managerial route or continue as a standalone biller. If you opt to become a Team Leader, you will make your first hire and start building a team.

If you prefer to be a Principal Consultant, you will stay focused on your own billings. While you may not manage a team directly, you may often mentor junior staff and contribute to business growth by managing important client accounts and delivering high-quality recruitment services.

Senior Consultant

A Senior Consultant handles the full recruitment process but with a focus on more complex, high-value, or senior-level roles. They typically have an established network and are responsible for sourcing and placing candidates. Senior Consultants often mentor junior staff and contribute to business development within their niche.

Consultant

For many new employees, reaching Consultant level will be their first promotion. A Consultant is typically responsible for managing the recruitment lifecycle, from sourcing candidates to placing them in roles.

They work with both clients and candidates, ensuring that both parties’ needs are met. Consultants focus on building a network of candidates and meeting their recruitment targets.

Associate

The Associate is an entry-level recruiter who supports Senior Consultants and Managers. This is typically the point where a recent graduate will start their career in recruitment. Associates are involved in sourcing candidates, initial screening, managing databases, and sometimes assisting in interviews.

Associates are often in training to become full consultants and work under supervision to build their skills and knowledge in the recruitment industry.

Resourcer

This is the first step on the recruitment career ladder, especially common for recent school leavers, and your opportunity to understand the industry and its workings. You will play a key role by supporting your team in various ways.
