We are seeking an experienced Trading Application Support Engineer to join a leading financial institution in London. This individual will be instrumental in supporting and enhancing the firm's front-office trading platforms, ensuring seamless operation across multiple asset classes. The role requires deep technical expertise in Linux, Python, and SQL, alongside significant experience in front-office environments.
Responsibilities
- Provide technical support for the firm's trading systems, ensuring optimal performance and minimal downtime.
- Collaborate closely with traders, quants, and developers to understand and address front-office requirements.
- Maintain and enhance the trading infrastructure, troubleshooting issues and implementing system improvements.
- Automate and optimize workflows using Python and SQL, improving operational efficiency.
- Monitor system performance and ensure high availability and low-latency execution across all trading activities.
- Work closely with other teams, including development, risk, and operations, to ensure system integration and compliance.
- Contribute to the design and deployment of new trading tools and applications.
Requirements
- Extensive experience in a front-office trading environment, with a deep understanding of financial markets and trading workflows.
- Strong expertise in Linux administration and systems engineering.
- Proficiency in Python scripting for automation, tooling, and data analysis.
- Solid knowledge of SQL for database management, reporting, and performance tuning.
- Experience working in high-pressure environments with a focus on real-time, low-latency systems.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with traders and technical teams, bridging the gap between IT and business.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail in fast-paced settings.
Desirable
- Experience with market data feeds, FIX protocol, and other trading-related technologies.
- Knowledge of cloud infrastructure and virtualization technologies.
